Welcome May! This month our theme is Fairy Tales. We will be reading and discussing them throughout the month. In math we are still concentrating on addition and subtraction and revisiting other skills already learned. We have 2 Superkids books left and we will continue to learn new reading and ELA skills. We will talk about our armed forces and the significance of Memorial Day. In science we will explore the world of insects. May is the month we celebrate the Blessed Mother Mary. We are learning the Hail Mary in class. We are focusing on how Jesus wants us to be a "good neighbor".

Reading/ELA- Bb, Rr, Nn, Mm. We will continue to blend sounds into words. Science- Space Social Studies- Community Religion- Lent, Easter, and how we live as friends of Jesus Reading/ELA- Letters Ee,Hh,Bb and Rr. Math- Money and base 10 Science- Dental Health Social Studies- Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Valentines Day Religion- God gave us a Church Family Reading/ELA - letters Tt, Ff, Ee, and Hh. We will continue to blend sounds to make words.
Math - Number 11-20. Making groups of 10. Continuing addition and subtration. Identifying numbers to 31. Science- Animals; their characteristics and habitats. Social Studies - Martin Lurther King. China's "ice" city. Religion - Jesus is God's Own Son. Jesus taught us about His father and taught us how to pray. Reading/ELA- Ss, Ll, Ii & Tt
Math- graphing, tally, fractions, compare/contrast shapes, plane figures, and problems involving patterns Science- how things move Social Studies- community workers and transportation Religion- Advent, Jesus lived in a family, my family is a sign of God's love November News
Picture Days- 11/5 & 11/6 Reading/ELA- Letters A,D,S, and L Math- Compare Multiple Sets, Compare Sizes(longer/shorter etc.), and Solid Figures (cones, spheres etc.) Science- How To Have A Healthy Body- 5 Senses Social Studies- Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Religion- Jesus Welcomes the Children, We are Children of God, Jesus Is the Good Shepherd, We Care for Others, and introduce Advent * Don't forget to send in non-perishable food for the Church Food Pantry (pasta, canned goods etc.) |
