Welcome back! I hope you had a good week off. This week we meet Superkid, Hot Rod. He will teach us about letter Hh. We continue counting money and adding on cents. (ex. 1 nickel and 3 pennies equals 8 cents) We will discuss how, through Baptism, we become members of our Church Family. Progress Reports will be distributed on Thursday. Please do not forget to send in donations for the food pantry. We are sounding out more and more words and I encourage you to do the same at home. Ms. Salma, our school counselor, is working with the class and we are learning how to be good friends and students and how to listen, take turns, and pay attention to others.
Happy Catholic Schools Week! There is a lot going on this week. Our class trip to see Skippy John Jones is on Tuesday. We will be singing at the CSW songfest Wednesday afternoon in Tolentine Hallat 1:30 you are welcome to join us there. On Friday we will be having a Valentine Dance the children may dress up in valentine colors. We are learning about the two birthday boys Washington and Lincoln. We are counting by fives and tens to help us with our money unit, so you may want to practice at home. I will be sending a packet of work to keep the "cherubs" engaged over the break. Just let them do a little every day to keep up their skills. Pleas remember when it comes to handwriting a good guide is, top to bottom, left to right(this also helps with reading). Enjoy the break. Try to stay warm!
