Welcome back! I hope you had a good week off. This week we meet Superkid, Hot Rod. He will teach us about letter Hh. We continue counting money and adding on cents. (ex. 1 nickel and 3 pennies equals 8 cents) We will discuss how, through Baptism, we become members of our Church Family. Progress Reports will be distributed on Thursday. Please do not forget to send in donations for the food pantry. We are sounding out more and more words and I encourage you to do the same at home. Ms. Salma, our school counselor, is working with the class and we are learning how to be good friends and students and how to listen, take turns, and pay attention to others.
Happy Catholic Schools Week! There is a lot going on this week. Our class trip to see Skippy John Jones is on Tuesday. We will be singing at the CSW songfest Wednesday afternoon in Tolentine Hallat 1:30 you are welcome to join us there. On Friday we will be having a Valentine Dance the children may dress up in valentine colors. We are learning about the two birthday boys Washington and Lincoln. We are counting by fives and tens to help us with our money unit, so you may want to practice at home. I will be sending a packet of work to keep the "cherubs" engaged over the break. Just let them do a little every day to keep up their skills. Pleas remember when it comes to handwriting a good guide is, top to bottom, left to right(this also helps with reading). Enjoy the break. Try to stay warm!
Hello! This week we will be finishing Frits and beginning Ettabetta. Hold onto your wallets; we will be starting to learn about money. Brush, brush, brush it is Dental Health month. We will learn that like us Jesus has many friends. "Hail to the Chief"; we will explore the life of President George Washington. Our first spelling test will be this Friday!
This week we meet Superkids Tic, Tac, and Toc. Our math topic is subtraction. We will continue to explore the Animal Kingdom. We will learn about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. We will see how our families are a gift from God.
Happy New Year! We are exploring letter Ii with Superkid Icky. (Yes, Icky). WE will discuss how Jesus lived in a family just like we do. We will review and expand our knowledge of addition and subtraction strategies. With the falling snow, it is a great tune to talk about animal hibernation.
Please remember to return trip forms and payments by Friday, January 9. Any goods you can send for the food pantry is great appreciated. Kindergarten did a fantastic job at the Christmas Concert! This week we will meet Superkid Lily who will teach us all about letter Ll. we will continue down the track with transportation and learn about community workers. we will explore patterns using plane figures and colors. The children will make a book about the Nativity. Please remember there is no afterschool on Thursday 12/18 and it is also Be an Angel Day. Food pantry collection is on Friday 12/19. Mrs. LaPlant This week we will begin letter Ss and meet Superkid Sal. We will be dismissing at 11:00 on Thursday Dec. 4. I will see you later that day for Report Cards. We will be attending Mass on Friday Dec. 5 and dismissal will be at 11:50. The children are learning about Advent and made Advent wreaths .
We will continue working on solid figures and letter Dd.
On Monday, we are doing a Thanksgiving craft with our big brothers and sisters. We will be going to Church on Wednesday for the school Thanksgiving Mass at 8:45am. You are welcome to attend. A Blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours! This week we will begin exploring the world of solid figures (cones, rectangular prisms etc ). We are now listening for letter sounds in the middle of words as well as beginning letter Dd and meeting our new Superkid Doc. We will learn about eating healthy foods. YUM! We are reminded that Jesus is the good Shepherd and we are His sheep. We will attempt to make models of the Mayflower with paper plates, glue, and crayons. I'm sure we'll have a "sticky" good time. We will continue to learn about the Pilgrims and Native Americans that befriended them.
